

{"id":2509,"date":"2020-12-09T10:29:53","date_gmt":"2020-12-09T10:29:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.fabionline.net\/blog\/?p=2509"},"modified":"2025-03-31T20:44:14","modified_gmt":"2025-03-31T18:44:14","slug":"fireeye-has-been-hacked","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fabionline.net\/blog\/cybersecurity\/fireeye-has-been-hacked\/","title":{"rendered":"FireEye has been hacked"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>FireEye (cybersecurity firm) said it was hacked and that the attackers stole the tools the company uses to test the defenses of its customers&#8217; computer networks to find potential vulnerabilities<\/p>\n<p>The hacking was discovered in recent weeks, when suspicious access was detected that had exceeded the two-factor authentication requirement on their virtual private network, according to the company.<br>\nThe attackers hacked from two dozen U.S.-based IP addresses, none of which were detected before as part of a cyberattack: the kind of sophisticated tactics that led FireEye to believe that a foreign intelligence service was behind the incident.
