{"id":146,"date":"2012-08-02T12:52:21","date_gmt":"2012-08-02T11:52:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.fabionline.net\/aaaaaaa\/?p=146"},"modified":"2020-08-29T08:12:38","modified_gmt":"2020-08-29T08:12:38","slug":"wine-su-mac","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fabionline.net\/blog\/mac\/wine-su-mac\/","title":{"rendered":"mIRC on Mac.. with Winebottler"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I am using dear old mIRC from about 15 years, and when i started with wonderful open-source world i enjoyed to continue to use mIRC through <a href=\"http:\/\/www.winehq.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Wine<\/a>\u00a0libraries.<br>\nOf course i wanted to use it also under Mac OSx, but in a simple way, without using windows through\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.apple.com\/it\/support\/bootcamp\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bootcamp<\/a>\u00a0or virtualize it with\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.parallels.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Parallels<\/a>.<br>\nSo i tried with <a href=\"http:\/\/winebottler.kronenberg.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Winebottler<\/a>: it works using wine library and <a href=\"http:\/\/xquartz.macosforge.org\/landing\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Xquartz<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0(replacing \u00a0old X11 ,<span style=\"color: #000000;\">that Apple has shipped with OS X since version 10.5.) &#8211; after installation of both you will have simply to click the executable file (in this case mirc.exe).<\/span><br>\nYou can see results at image below:<br>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.fabionline.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/mircwinebottler.png\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-1827 \" title=\"mirc\" src=\"https:\/\/www.fabionline.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/mircwinebottler.png\" width=\"349\" height=\"176\" \/><\/a><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I am using dear old mIRC from about 15 years, and when i started with wonderful open-source world i enjoyed to continue to use mIRC through Wine\u00a0libraries.
